Does anyone on here have heated windscreen washer nozzles?

I was reading about these on a German site and was thinking about trying to fit them to my car.

My understanding of Babelfish'ed German is a little patchy but it sounds like they recalled thousands of the nozzles because the wiring overheats. Apparently the "solution" is to cut the wires and effectively disable the heaters.

Does this apply to UK Vectra/Signum cars too?

It does, they have recalled all the Vectra's in Denmark aswell that had the heated nozzles. They said that untill they find a way to make them safer they have to disable them...

There is no ETA on the fix. Also a Vectra burned to the ground here in Denmark because of the problem. It was a mother that was driving to pick up some bread. She noticed some smoke coming out of the engine compartment and quickly exited the vehicle. Within minutes the car had stood in flames

I'm now thinking that I probably don't want to retrofit them :)

Didn't think it got cold enough in your parts to warrant these?! :D

Didn't think it got cold enough in your parts to warrant these?! :DAhh, a common mistake. While it can get to 40+ degrees on a hot summer day, in winter (i.e. now), it gets cold enough to coat my windscreens with ice.
