Our olympus mju 300 is still in the repair shop with a broken door (5 months now waiting for the part) so weve decided to just buy a new camera.

We want something good quality, that takes li-ion batteries (seem to last ages), easy to use, not bothered about fancy features, easy to hold and carry around and cost max £250

Its either that or buy a reconned mju300 from ebay for £100

I've got the mju400, and I'm very happy with it.

Olympus Camedia C70 - Small Compact and very well spec.
See here - http://www.bristolcameras.co.uk/olympus-c70.htm
£285 - take a copy of the website page to any Jessops store and they will price match.

I've just got a Canon S70 from 7dayshop, and I've very pleased with it. Excellent in full auto mode, but has lots of manual settings, too.

I'm very impressed with the Casio Exlim range, they flatter the ameteur and allow you to be very creative + a huge screen on the back.

gotta PentaX Optio s5i - everybody compliments its looks & performance - petite, elegant, simple, (hmm just sounds like simon - the simple bit that is)

a typical young mans camera, so may be no good here

did you get a camera before your holiday? or are you still looking

Ive got a KonicaMinolta Z3 which has a 12x optical zoom which is good for framing etc but my other half has just got a ixus50 (like BruceyBonus suggested) which is an excelent little camera the size of a fag packet - fantastic reviews at the moment too. You can also get a underwater kit for it if that takes your fancy!

7 day shop is about £80 cheaper than the cheapest I could get Jessops to go down to! - and they were very quick with delivery.
