Right,

I have just acquired a Pioneer head unit, and fascia adaptor. Before I spend another 20 quid on the wiring adaptor, does anyone know - or can anyone find out....

I read somewhere that the only problem with Vx wiring loom is that the switched and constant live wires are the wrong way round, so you would lose all your settings every time you turn the ignition off.

Is this right? If so, it seems stupid to fork out any money at all when I could just cut and re-splice the existing wires...

look forward to any opinions :)

should be a red and a yellow wire, just swap them around, usually they will have plugs on to make this easy.

Just to set the record straight -

the Vx wiring loom is NOT compatible with ISO standard, so I will sadly need the extortionately priced wiring adaptor.

more suprisingly, the antenna cable is non-standard too. suspicious that none of the main ICE suppliers have an adaptor.....

if anyone knows anywhere cheap to get hold of the wiring adaptor from, it would be appreciated. also, anyone else who has done their install already, where on earth did you get the antenna cable adaptor from?

here's hoping.....!

Have you bought a facia kit yet? You will get one from vx plus the wiring loom that you should need for about £25

When I bought the vx facia adapter, the harness adapter was with it. Also I fitted a Sony head unit, the small adapter plug to connect aerial to head unit was with it.
Any car accessory store should have the aerial adapters.

Halfrauds even do a compatible wiring loom in their fascia kit. They also supply arial adaptors for about £1.50.

I'm at work with no tools, just taken the CD30 head unit out, to be confronted with the cage held in by a torx screw at the back.

does anyone know - is this the only screw holding the cage in, because I can't fit the fascia adaptor until it comes out.

so now i've got to drive home with a hole in the dash and wires hanging out!!
