Well i took it to Park Rd VX main dealer and told them the catch needed adjusting and left it with them while i did some shopping.
1 hour later they phoned me to say, to make the adjustments would cost me £30! They said that because the car is 15 months old the warranty doesn't cover the car for adjustments!
So iv'e paid the money and hope the problem has gone. Fingers crossed.
Cant believe they charged me though, I thought Fiat aftercare was bad!!!!!!!

I was told by pentagon when they refitted some window trim that after 12mths it wouldnt be covered for any cosmetic replacements or adjustments. Maybe thats why yrs 2 & 3 are free extended waranty.
did you report the faulty tailgate whilst the car was still under warranty?
If so they should have a report on file probably a bit late now but I would have made a fuss before paying.
If it still rattles go back and kick some ***.

No the rattle started after the first year ran out Cyb.I did make a fuss but they were not interested at all, even though it is the second time that I have taken it in to them. The rattle has gone and the boot lid feels much tighter, I just hope the fault doesn't return.
It would have been nice if they would have done it for free, but never mind.

Must admit I was driving the car with a smile on my face again after it was fixed. The rattle was driving me mad.

Dare i say it! It seems to have sorted the rattle and the boot shuts with a nice thud, rather than a slam and a rattle.

need to get mine done, its getting worse. and when you open it in the rain the water all spills in from the drainage bit into the boot. not well designed

Well the rattle is easy to sort. But the water going into the boot is something we are all going to have to put up with.

I had the same problem and just fixed it myself. Just needed to slacken the catch plate on the floor (not the tailgate itself) and adjust it so that it didn't rattle. Watch you don't go too far or the tailgate will close snugly but not close the switch that detects the tailgate being closed - and then you'll have the pinging noise when you drive off along with the warning graphic in the dash.
