hello everyone just joined site.just sold my vectra b v6 few months ago.i have now got a 52 reg 2.2 sri.i am thinking of fitting a cone filter.or i have been told if u fit a panel filter and remove the rather long pipework connected to the airbox it makes difference to power and sound.is this just rubbish or true.any advice lads please?also is there any lads in the north east of england who have a regular meet?

The long tube is there purely for sound deadening reasons to fit in with the good old EEC rules. Take it out and keep it safe in case you sell the car and wish to put it back on.
Will it make a difference -probably not a lot of gain on power but you may feel it does and it might even sound better.
I have a viper fitted to my 2.2 and it makes a nice sound when excellerating :)

hi stupot, there is a northeast meet in august, it will be the first one probably around durham as the gang is split between boro and ashington, if you look in the north east list you will see where people ar located, im in boro as is 2ltrT
