Motor-World have some fantastic deals on Sub and Amp kits at the moment was a tough choice between a JBL kit mentioned elsewhere, a Mutant kit and this splX set up. Liked the shiny amp and went for the power option, sounds great with my Clarion HU, frees the standard VX door speakers up to take care of the mid range and top end. I'm chuffed to bits :D

Fitted a Boss 2/3 way crossover today, with remote bass controls. Seperated the signal for the sub out to the amp and now have full control of the sub independantly of the head unit.
The sub is now absoloutely ferkin amazing! The signal to the other (standard Vx) speakers is much cleaner now as I don't need to turn up the bass EQ on the head unit and the whole system sounds fantastic, really REALLY chuffed with it now. Oh and its bl00dy loud too, if I want it to be ;)
Install still needs some tidying up will do that when I have a bit more time to spare. With a proper clean signal from a decent head unit or amp, you wouldn't believe just how good the standard fit Vx speakers are.

I had the pleasure of listening to Neils new sub/amp and line driver and OH YES it rocks. Listen to a few different tracks and i can confirm the base drops nice and low. Any one else need or looking at a system then consider this one. :music:

I'm quite chuffed with it. The guys at Motor-World in Caerphilly reckoned it was a cracking sub/amp package, they had a Mutant and a JBL system for the same price, but this had a bigger sub and more powerful amp, the guys said they'd had units back from the other 2 kits but everyone that had one of these had nothing but praise. Glad I took their advice and went away from the JBL system I was originally looking at.
Might look to changing the Vx door speakers and adding another amp and possibly 6x9s in the parcel shelf in the future, but the Vx standard speakers do a fantastic job, good enough for me at the moment anyway.
That there crossover/line driver makes all the difference to the sub and the control you have over it though. Wouldn't fit a sub/amp in future without one now.

My stereo has an output for a sub which I was going to connect straight to my amp then run my sub off the amp. I do the same for my front speakers also. I can then set the 4 channels on the amp to be high pass or low pass filters and I am guessing I will be able to control th esub output from the head unit.
Would a line driver/cross over be of use to me ???
Cheers
