Morning, all.
When cleaning the missus' Astra at the weekend, I noticed that the paint on the roof is starting to look a bit hazy. (It's a 4 year old non-metallic red SXi).
Any recommendations for a colour restoring polish of some sort?
Cheers, Phil

dont bother mate. Ive been there, tried all sorts and the colour polishes dont work.
The best thing would be to find someone to PC the car, although you could start by claying it, and using a good paint cleaner. A good entry level one would be the megiuars Deep crystal stage 1. At 4 yr old its more than likely just coated in road film, traffic film, tree sap etc and cleaning the paint will work wonders (followed by a good polish and wax, but i wont confuse things)
The megiuars clay system £11.99 and meguiard DC1 £6.99 can be bought from most halfords now. (make sure you use the clay properly though, ie plenty of spray lube (included) and keep it soft by continously working it in your hand)

Hi Phil,
First off I'd clay the car........the main reason for this is that you want the paint to be absolutely clean.........if you don't clay there will be grime & dirt on the suface which you will be rubbing into the paint, causing swirls.
Then I'd get some Megs ColorX apply this with a terry cloth rather than an applicator pad as the terry will have more bit.
Apply with medium pressure.
It may also be necessary to use Megs ScratchX on certain areas.
When completed apply a coat of wax........job done ;)
Also don't go near T-Cut

If it's single stage red, then it may be the start of fading setting in.
The top layer of oxidisation will need to be removed and then the remainder sealed with a UV blocker.
Use something like Klasse All In One and SealentGlaze, or Carlack.
