Hi guys,
Well the time is fast approaching when people will be looking to give their car a full pre winter detail, I thought I'd just offer my 2p worth by way of a few tips.....so here you go: -
1) Wash wheel arches, pressure washer and a loo brush are handy.
2) Clean wheels, non acidic wheel cleaner (AG engine & Machine cleaner).
3) Rinse then wash paintwork, use quality auto wash Megs AG etc.
4) Dry car.
5) Clay car, here is the link to a "How To": - http://forum.vectra-c.com/showthread.php?t=2894
6) Apply a paint cleaner, Megs DC1 or AG SRP.
7) Apply a sealant, DC2 or #21.
8) Apply a wax, ideally Collinite 476s which is VERY durable and perfect for winter.
9) A second coat of wax can be applied, normally after 24hours but I have done it after 2hours.
10) At this point it's time to clean and dress all plastic and rubber including the wheel arch liners, AG Vinyl & Rubber.
11) And finally the glass.
And that's it job done all protected through to the spring, all that's left is to wash apply a coat of spray wax or even paste wax from time to time.
