My clutch pedal doesn't feel right, I have about a half inch before I feel the spring actuate, also does the gearbox have a hydraulic fluid reservior inside the bellhousing, and if there is would a leaking one result in it dripping blackish oil out between the engine and gearbox.

My clutch feels like it's also slipping when worked harder than normal, I'm thinking I have a contaminated friction plate.

Any Ideas?

Can post a pic of the oil leak if needed.

Would put my money on the rear crank oil seal being the cause of the leak if it was the release bearing you would have all sorts of problems with having to pump the clutch up to change gear common Veccy b fault but also known a few veccy c taxi's have greif as well

Black oil.. deffo rear oil seal as drinky says..

or... it could be the slave cylinder in the bellhousing leaking and washing down with the black clutch dust.. this would account for the low pedal as well... gearbox off for either job..set aside a good couple of hundred for it..

Im monitoring it, as of yet i haven't used any oil, it could be the sloppy ****er who last changed the oil filter just pulled it out and it is this thats doing it,anything else it's warrenty and Vx can pickup the tab.

Thx guys.

Yeah, cheers Mark, I will keep an eye out for that as well, I asked a mate who has the same car if i could have a look at his, pedal does the same thing so i guess unless we both got the same fault alls ok.
