Hi all,

I have a de-restricted air box and am just ordering a K&N Panel Filter which will hopefully give the car the room to breathe it deserves.

It is a 2.2i 16v SRi.
I have had an induction kit on it for a while which was good but seemed to make it slower sometimes and faster at other times.

Anyone have any experience with the both?

Hoping after spending the money on a Panel Filter it will be better than the Induction Kit.

I am still after that sporty noise but no so intruding as the Induction Kit.

Any thoughts? experiences?

Panel filter on the 2.2 mate. If its an open induction kit it will suck up too much hot air and you'll be down on power. If its a closed kit you will also find that there are many bends in the system, bends on N/A's are not good so panel filter in stock derestricted airbox is your best bet.

Ok thank you mate.

Maybe my ECU is still re-learning the ratios after putting the standard airbox back on after an open K&N Induction Kit but it does feel slower.

I swear the induction kit felt a little faster as if the engine wasn't struggling to breathe but that may be in the head because of the noise. Also it is definitely running better with the standard box back on but the standard filter does no justice at all hehe.

Just purchasing a K&N Panel Filter that says for 2.2 DTi but i'm sure its the same.

Next i need a decent custom made exhaust system...
Any recommendations on where to get one? Close to the Oxford/Reading area? :D
Around £300 to be honest, the lower the better! :)
