Perfect Tommy........cracking job ;) ..........you're really getting into this detailing lark eh :D

One thing that might help is.........after you have rinsed with an open hose........spray the car with some Megs Last Touch Spray, you'll see any remaining water literally run off the car..........then lightly spray some Last Touch onto the drying towel agan this will help with the drying process and lubricate the towel so lessening the chance of creating swirls

Last touch is £18 something for a gallon and it can be used diluted 1 to 1 for the above process.

i bought some last touch a while ago from clean and shiny but have been using it basically as a lubericant for drying (as bryan says) and also as a basic QD. But ive been using neat and not even 1/4 through yet so im chuffed to hear it can be diluted. Its going to last ages!!! much much cheaper than buying normal QD off the shelf for 7.99 a bottle.

Forget to add Tommy, the VXR just seems to sit perfect. Just looks 'right' if you know what i mean.

Yeah Andy 1 to 1 is the way to go and that does for clay lub aswell........so it will last for ages ;)

Like you I often use it as a QD spray but that's always at full strength ;)

Anyone getting some might want to get a couple of spray bottles with spray heads aswell........cause you'll need them eh :D

Seeing as serious performance are based in southgate i'm thinking that i may take a trip up there and pick some up along with some other stuff.

if anyone wants anything then let me know and if you're going to santa pod next weekend i'll gladly bring it all along for you.

Bryan, me going to pick the stuff up shouldn't be an issue should it? it'll save me the p&p and we can go and see the g/friends parents at the same time!

Davie how far are you from Kilmarnock?.......geography isn't my strong point eh :D .......there's a guy I know down there who would be able to show you what's involved in detailing ;)

He's a really decent lad.....a young lad and his work is up there with the best

These 3 door sport variant Astra's have to be one of the most sexy looking shapes for a car ever put into production.

p.s, think you should consider chrome handles and mirrors as well, think they'd look real nice against the colour.

Bainie
26th August 2006, 18:05
The reason the Sporthatch looks so good imo, is that it went straight from concept car to production without being changed, The lines are stunning I think, rear visibilty isn`t great, but thats the price you pay for the looks, and you have mirrors for the job anyway ..

Not a chrome fan though ...

Nice job Tommy, black does look so nice when polished :D

Hope to see the car on the 17th if you can make the meet, maybe some of the guys on here might like to join us in Edinburgh :D
