Welcome Steph, hope you like what you see.

There's no negativity towards VVOC really, it's just a few members on there have been a little childish about us starting up in the first place and some people don't forget. Plus there's a few members on there who absolutely hate the Vec C and sl4g it off constantly, while refusing to accept any constructive critisism about their cars. Again it's just the few that spoil it for the many.

I still visit VVOC as I'm sure nearly everyone else on this site does.

Hi Steph... welcome to the site.

Not noticed any negativity on here from regular users about VVOC, have noticed however that there have been some posts on both VVOC and Vec-sport which have shown some sort of resentment for our having a separate club of our own (not from the more regular users on those sites though it appears as many of them are also regular contributors on here as well.... there seems to be a grumpy fringe element!!!!!). We are all Vectra drivers at the end of the day, the only reason that this forum/club was created was to give a space for Vec-c owners to share knowledge and experiences, without having to wade throught hundreds of posts about the Vec-b, which is after all a completely different animal. I'm quite sure when the 'D' model comes out in 2008?/2009?, there will be a splinter formed from here and a totally new online community will emerge!!

Most of the members I have experienced on here, like me, are not just Vec-c enthusiasts but enthusiasts of anything with a griffin on the bonnet.... I've owned 7 different Vx's in 8 years, and loved every one of them!!

Anyway, enough waffle.....enjoy the site.

Welcome to the site Steph - hope you enjoy it. And as above, no negativity to VVOC as such.

Hi Steph welcome to vectra-c.com
I'm one of the co owners of vectra-sport and even I come here because its just as friendly a place as vectra-sport.
Not sure I agree with Jamies comments about 'resentment for our having a separate club of our own' (its ok Jamie I respect your opinion m8) but I do (or did) find too many vec B owners all to ready to knock the vec C. Many of us on this site have owned both the B & C versons and we know which we'll stick with thank you :) :)

Hi steph.
I am new to this site as well.
I used to own a rs turbo, and mk1 escort rs2000 and be a member of the rs owners club.
I soon got peed off by those who thought if you didn't have a concours car or spend 1000's on it you were not welcome ( not to mention the boy racer image )
Do not take any notice of what other people think,do what you think is right.
Don't forget there are many thousends of people out there to be glad to own what you have got.
Andy.

Hi Steph79! I'm also an ex Veccy B owner, but like Jamie1979 says, it handy being able to focus on the Veccy C / Signum discussions, knowing that all content is relevent.

Welcome to the site. as has been said were a friendly bunche and site was mainly set up to avoid us trolling through reems and reems of veccy b posts to find out about our cars.

I am still a member of vectra sport and a vaux enthuesiast and active member of vxlscc as well and reckon the more vauxhall sites and vectra sites the merrier.

I have a 2.2 as well and hope you enjoy, cracking cars.

Oh the signums arent bad either :p (just for duncan :p :p )

Hi welcome to the site, recognise the name from vvoc, How do you find the 2.2 after the v6 ??

elegance 2003
23rd August 2005, 20:23
To be honest i much prefere my old v6 sri.Maybe it was because it was a sri,but my new 2.2 elegance is not that good at holding the road.Is is due to the higher ride height, higher profile tyres 215/55/16 apossed to 205/55/16 or the softer suspension i don't know but i am considering getting rid.
Engine wise it is ok,but the v6 was a much smoother and powerfull engine.
Mine has only done 18k so mileage should not be an issue.
How does yours cope ?
Andy.
