Oil problem

Anybody had a problem with oil consumption?

I checked mine on monday and was at max then on way to work last night the warning light came on and i checked and seemed empty? below min on dipstick?

its a 2.2 petrol btw.

Any ideas?

I have had to put in a litre in the last year but that is normal for this engine I am told. The only things I can tyhink of are the obvious, was the car been sitting the same time on both checks and were you on a hill? When you checked on monday had the car been run ? If all the oil was in the sump first check and the engine 2ns then you would have a difference the oil has not been consumed. If not then you may have a prob ?

I was going to get it booked in for a change soon anyway so might just do that to be on safe side, hadnt been run on monday and strangely the light went off when i switched the engine on and off again.

Ah vauxhalls i do love them. being my 7th i'd be used to their wee niggles :D

Have you had a quote yet, I was quoted between £70 - £80, because it is synthetic oil !!!
