You will need minimum 18" wheels with VXR brakes ...

Look great mate but really after the VXR 1's ;)

Wouldn't bother go for a proper brake kit. Not a bigger single pot caliper.
VXR stuff is around £800.

Is the LMF kit any good?

For the money yes it is good :) Can't go wrong at that price.
I wouldn't bother with the VXR kit, if you want better than the LMF, time to go for 888 Alcons or APs etc.

What would you recommend mate?

I have the 888 Astra mate and it comes with the 888 Alcon 4 Pot setup with 330mm discs. Not sure if they fit under 17s, you would have to ring VXR to check. They are frankly AWESOME! A 911 Turbo driver took my car out for a spin the other day and commented on they were better than his!
For the money the LMF kit is a bargain! But if you want something that you want to stop you dead again and again and again without brake fade, it is the 888 kit for sure :)

Done mine a month ago and can honestly say they are now superb. :D Best £300 mod you will do :thumb:
Why they are not fitted as standard to the SRi is a mystery as the standard brakes are poor for the performance of the car.

Very tempted to get these when the time comes to replace the discs & pads. Stupis question I know but do you just get a set for the front? :o

i think it's just disc's and calipers for the front at that price.. I know Plasma has the LMF upgrade kit with the grooved disc option on the front and rear and his cost him more than the 300 quid quoted above..

Thanks for that Mark. So could I upgrade the front then do the back later?

Wouldn't bother with the back. My 888 has standard SRi rears.

Maybe just keep that as an option for the future, incase I ever run out of mods to do :D

Yes m8, Discs, calipers and pads. You will need a splined socket to get them off to and i replaced the bolts too. They are only £1.35 each and you will need 4 of them.

Are the easy enough to change? As I do like to have a go myself but I can call on my mate to help out if required (hes a mechanic) :D

If he is a mechanic he should have the socket and yes they are really easy to fit if the bolts come out. I split my socket and damaged the head of the bolt. Ended up having to grind the bolt off
The first side took me 1/2 hour. I had to borrow an angle grinder for the following day and that side only took about an hour. It took longer to bleed the system than fit them!

Ok mate, cheers for the info :D

Agree on bleeding the system. Make sure you renew the copper washers going from the lines to the calipers :) I didn't once and the brakes kept losing feel. Scary!
