hi i have a 03 vec sri and have noticed this last few days that the rear of the car has started to "fish about" on the road, mostly when going over potholes instead of just going over the car has started to sway from side to side
So got home this afternoon and got it up on the ramps and checked it all out and after about 1 hour of taking various parts off eg shockers, anti roll bar bushes, found the top arm outer bushes worn but can only get movement in them when the cars on the ground (having visions of vec b i had replaced the bushes several times)i was just wondering if any one else has had this problem or may be to look out for it
my car has 65000 on the clock,i thought vauxhall might have sorted this problem out after the vec b kept wearing these bushes out
i'll have to go and price up new on monday as the motors out of warranty now
hopefully not to pricey and not to hard to change will let you all know!!

I replaced them twice on my old Vectra C . I could not buy just the bushes had to buy complete top arm . Vauxhall call them top stabiliser arms .But then it did have 109,000 miles on the clock .

no mate the shockers are fine its just the torsion arm outer bushes that were knackered,(but you can't buy the bushes seperate unlike the vec b)same as you on the vauxhall front not interested because of high mileage (65000) not high in my opinon for an 03 car just told the bloke on warranty to look out for me in 11 months time when i bring these back and i will want replacements,he didn't look impressed good old lookers @ blackburn(useless in my opinon!!)

yep used to drive me nuts!!)plus the car felt very slack
i have changed the rear shockers also recently and this has made a vast improvement on handling and ride quality, just need to sort the front shockers now!!!

I've checked the bushes, shocks inside the boot, fitted new anti- roll bushes, adjusted hatch catch and the rear o/s is still making a dull bonking noise when i go across undulating ground, what kind of noise do you get when the weld is missing from the rear pillar?
