Plastic Bonnet?

am i going nuts here or is the bonnet on my vec made of plastic?. i slapped some magnetis L plates on for the MRS yesterday and much to my surprise it slid right off my bonnet........ i had to tuck it under the number plate... is this normal or is it yet another abnormality ive found with my tank?

No mate its made of alloy, think its too reduce the weight...... :)
