another problem to share
Doeas anyone suffer from a crunchy gearbox between 1st and 2nd, and 2nd and 3rd ?????
I have a vec 05 1.9cdti sri and when it's cold the box is as crunchy as anything low down. Seems to go ok when it warms up!
Reason for concern or just a cheeky vec trademark ???
Thanks

its the 6 speed box that is the worst but i can tell you that they all do it some are worse than others though my 20 t had a new gearbox and clutch and flyeheel and still does it but my mind was put at rest when when i made an apoitment with tech from vauxhall nice bloke and very fare offered me yet another box if i wanted but explained that is how they are hardly notice it now i have stopped worrying about it

My gear box is a right pig mate, more when its cold rather than warm, if i'm pulling up to a junction or traffic lights i keep the clutch dipped, cause if i let it up and then depress and try and put it into first its a nightmare

Ah, this is exactly what mine does and have been living with it. Me thinks a trip to Aberdeen maybe called for. B****r!

Mines exactly the same, local dealer adjusted the linkage which has improved it greatly, still a little crunching on really cold mornings. Will get them to look at it again when the weather gets colder.

Mine does not do that at all, deffo get to the dealers.
I believe some gearboxes were from Saab & were not up to the job, but were later changed due to the high failure rate.
Mine changes perfectly in any weather, unless I miss the gate completely.
