Howdy.
Ive kinda done half of the airbox mod. ive fitted an ITG performance filter and removed the gash piece of plastic from inside the airbox. is it worth cutting the tube type thing attached to the top half of the airbox down so its flush?
ive heard some horror stories that it will really mess things up performance wise.
i hope you know what i mean.
cheers

I'd leave it be..it's meant to provide a smooth airflow over the sensor inside.. ;)

if you do cut it back, make sure you keep the mesh in place as this protects the AFM.

When I did the mod to my airbox I didnīt touched the top tube....I guess it regulates some how the air flow and probably protects the sensor....as far as I know the sensor is pretty expensive....I didīt placed a K&N filter....I will stick with the regular paper ones, for some reason donīt trust fully the K&Nīs Iīve read bad stories about them and the prices of them are not to friendly either....I prefer to make filter change intervals shorter with the paper ones.
