I spotted a Signum in Basildon today. I wonder where all the others are? What's wrong with them? I never see any on the road or in car parks, only on forecourts.

No, a Vectra. I was thinking of going for one, but worried why nobody buys them.

Not many people buy them mate because not many people know about them, they use all the vectra running gear and are based on a vectra estate chassis.

Thats exactly it, best kept secret, VX just don`t seem to try and sell them, you never see an advert for them do you, which is a shame because it is a cracking car , Especially the facelift, the signum looks gorgeuos with new front

I know it's off topic but seems to fit in with the way this thread is going ... I always assumed the Signum was the replacement for the Omega which seemed to disappear very quietly indeed. I have just Googled and found Wikipedia also seems to agree with my assumption but then I found this ... New Omega for 2006 (http://www.worldcarfans.com/spyphotos.cfm/spyphotoid/6040505.001/country/opel/opel/new-omega-for-2006)
I wonder if we will see it in the UK ... quite like the sound of the 200Bhp V6 3.0 Cdti based on the engine in my car. Also like the sound of the V8! ... 350bhp

Thats always been the problem with the Signum, It's Vauxhall's best kept secret  I really love my car, the build quality is fantastic, the ride and handling far surpasses the Vectra yet Vauxhall just do not promote the car

Vauxhall have no doubt invested millions in a car that they do not really want to sell. Sounds crazy I know, but after trying to get a 2.8T Signum and using my 3.0 as a Part exchange I was sadly dissapointed with the part exchange prices offered, some dealers as low as 10k for a car only 1 year old and with 16000miles to me is shocking for a 27k car when it was new.

The best deal I was offered(14.5k) was actually from Mercedes against a new 320 CDi SLK, but I could not afford the extra that the Merc commands when new.

If you are willing to keep a Signum for 5 years, and you buy it at around 6 months old at around 14k then you will average out ok.

It really is a fantastic car totally undervalued by Vauxhall, it could never replace the Omega, but it isn't a Vectra.

I see them everywhere around here.

I notice them because i see the chrome fog surrounds as they approach and i look to see if its a Signum or a modded Vectra.

I see just as many signums as vectras on the roads round by me. Most of the signums though seem to be driven by the empolyees from the factory here in Ellesmere Port. Must be because they get a very good long term rental deals from Vauxhall

i sometimes wish i'd went for a signum myself as they look amazing when modded, and more exclusive than the veccy.

The Signum is so rare!

I've always liked them & I look out for the all the time.

Everytime I see the front of a large/medium sized Vauxhall (02-05), I do a double at the foglights & if I see the silver strips, I know it's Signum, but invariably they either don't have the silver strip or no fogs at all, meaning it's the Veccy.

I'd like to put a flyer on a Signum, but I just don't see any.

The current Signum is marketed as a trim level of the new Vectra.

I think VX have finally admitted defeat by now markerting the two of them together.

It's still not helped, because I haven't seen a single facelifted Signum on the roads.

i must admit i wish i'd went for a signum now, much more exclusive, and like most of you said already, you very rarely see then anywhere other than the dealers forecourt.

What I mean is they are marketed together as if they are one car.

Previously, the Signum had a separate brochure from the Vectra & was advertised as a stand alone product. ;)

Right, with ya now! :)

I wonder if that's so that anyone picking up a Vectra brochure is therefore made aware of the Signum at the same time - and therefore increasing the chances of them going for a Signum instead!

I'm seeing more on the road now, a few around here but by no means loads. It's still very much a case of "Signum, what's that then?! - which I like! Nice to have something that bit different and not so common. Very glad I bought mine. :)
