recently my vec has got a liitle bit of slack on the clutch pedal, to the point where i have to pull the pedal up to engage the cruise control, the clutch otherwize seems to be working ok. what should i do, im hoping this will be an easy fix?

also there is a nasty crack sometimes when i pull up the handbrake-whats that all about?

thanks!

Clutch pedal is easy.. the return spring is weak..VX did an 'in service' un-official recall on it and have a revised spring avaliable to buy if you have no warranty.. it's not dear and it's easy to fit.

Crack on the handbrake?? either sticking rear handbrake quadrants on the caliper or it's the pawl and ratchet in the lever itself.. where does the noise seem to come from???

I had this crack noise from the hand brake too....in my case I think has to do with the lever mechanismm itself or itīs plastic covers cause the noise comes from there. I just pull the thing slowly and doesnīt crakkk

yep...the noise comes from within the actual lever housing itself.

i had this problem and got the dealers to sort it out, hasn't cracked since!! awful noise it is too! i think the technician said that there was some slippage going on.
