Well was up at 0500 for the 180 mile drive to Bromsgrove. Traffic good to me so was there on time. Let Jason and Si do their stuff and then drove home the Signum with 234.6 Hp @ 5475 rpm, 247.8 lb/ft. Great stuff and well chuffed.
During the testing got 254.1 Hp @ 6025 rpm with 226.1 lb/ft, but wanted a safety margin to stop me destroying the engine

OK - now I am confused! lol
234.6 Hp @ 5475 rpm, 247.8 lb/ft.
During the testing got 254.1 Hp @ 6025 rpm with 226.1 lb/ftWouldn't the 254bhp run have a higher torque figure than the 234bhp one? As the remap increases the bhp, I'd expect it to increase the torque with it, not lower it?

Not trying to doubt your figures or anything. Just curious and trying to get my inquisitive head around it and see if I'm missing something?

Edit: Just been thinking (I know, dangerous!! :D) I think I'm right in saying that as you push the bhp to the max, you can start to actually lower the torque? - and actually end up with a slower car?

Your final figures sound like a nice balance - decent bhp and a good bit of torque :)

What you need Duncan is the prints I have, but I don't have a scanner at home so I'll try to explain.
Yes 254 Hp is a slower car, well sort of. The Lb/ft graphs are completely different. At 254 Hp the torque 120-130 between 2500-4500 rpm. The 234 Hp torque is 115-235 at the same rpm, having peaked at 241 at 3975 rpm whilst the 254 hp setup peaked at 226 lb/ft at 5800 rpm.

Clear as mud I suppose. Will scan the graphs at work and post later.

What you ended up with sounds like a good balance.

Didn't you have the re-map b4 from their?

He would have more torque than that. A quick calculation shows that 254bhp at 6025rpm would be kicking about 226lbft at that rpm. The max torque output would be at slightly lower rpm, somewhere in the 4500-5000 rpm range for a petrol of that size I'd say. Though maybe a little higher.

The graphs will show 2 peeks, the torque just before the power.

nice one trel ..... mine is still getting better ... for some reason by reverting back to 95 ron then back to 97 ron .. has gave mine a new lease of life ... and yes a good piece of torque dude ... as mine only has 225 it would seem we have both quite close recordings and would be nice to see which one is indeed quicker ;)

Same engine, same gentleman did the remap. sort of logical that the recordings will be similar. Perhaps will try the 95 ron trick. Anything to make the Signum a little more fun to drive.

No. Phil talked me in to it at the Essex show, and just been waiting to fit it in since then.

Chuffed your enjoying the mod. But how different does it make the car? how has it improved 0-60 times? In gear acceleration? Fuel consumption?

Hi Phil, Have you tried the V Power yet?? It has taken 3 tanks and i think the whether turning a bit colder but the last few days my car has felt very quick. Iam still on the old remap that Jayson has done, i hope to go up there and get the new map that you have had done. sounds great
