just got my tickets for le mans...(going to stay with a mate out there) as i don't like the British round since donington lost the contract to silverstone!......silverstone hasn't got the same atmosphere.:(
should be an experience!:D
can't wait to see Rossi on the ducati. i think he will do better in the races than in testing. it's like his qualifying times - he always pulls one out of the bag in the last 5 mins!;)

Massive fan, even my wife. Not missed a single session since starting watching back in 2002 and both Rossi fans. Mugello is gonna be buzzing this year, can't wait. Lets hope he gets 100% asap!

Wow, I wasnt expecting such a big reaction to bike racing from a car forum. Good to see some people with good taste!
Not missed a race since about 2002 or 2003, cant remember exactly and been to Donnington a few times. Saw Rossi crash there in the wet at the last race and claim 4th but the most memorable moment was seeing Gibernau spin off right in front of us in quite frankly awful conditions. Needless to say he had his usual hissy fit and we all laughed - a lot!
Rossi on the Duke will be interesting this year, Stoner looks awesome on the RC212V already and Simoncelli and Dovi will be up there too I think. Looking forward to seeing Cal and how Spies progresses. Think it could be a great season this year with plenty of things going on.

Yup, major fan, never miss a race! Follow Nicky Hayden, nice to see him paired up with the G.O.A.T. on the factory Ducati this season. Buzzing!!

Aye, Nicky was very much the understudy when they were on the Repsol Honda team. Cant see them arguing like Rossi/Lorenzo but will be interesting to see how they get on now that Nicky is a much more established member of the circuit.

on eurosport about 10 pm they are showing classic 500 gp with the likes of eddie lawson, doohan rainey etc and tt races with joey dunlop.its called bike battles, presented by toby moodey and julian ryder.proper racing back then, those 2 strokes took no prisoners:eek:
Good spot and cheers for the heads up. I'll put a reminder on for that I think. 500 2 strokes were animals.

Not really, not with all the electronics on them. Will make the races easier if anything I reckon.

well it should make corner speeds slower so more chance's for overtaking, just like it was when they first came out, stuff it up the inside then blast it back out to the next one, no more perfect line or go slow crap like we got now with these 800. Just my 2 pence worth :)
Lap times have actually got faster since the introduction of the 800s due to being able to carry more corner speed so not sure what this "go slow" thing is you mention.
noel.nev
6th March 2011, 21:37
corner speed is what im talking about fella, if your not on a perfect line and the rider loses a bit of corner speed they suffer top end speed on a straight, but with a 1000cc they can come almost to a stop and still hit top speed down the straight. thats why i think the 250 riders prefer the 800s and the riders who rode the 990s and 500 strokers would prefer the 1000cc.
