Hi
Im new to this forum having just recently bought an 04 plate Vectra 3.0 V6 SRI CDTI.
Is there any way of knowing/checking if a tuning box has been fitted by the previous owner (or even had a remap?)? What do I look for?
Thanks in advance
Johny

Tuning boxes - theres no way of telling mate if someone had previously fitted one, well not that I know of anyways. RE: Remap - this needs to be interrogated by a specialist - I dont even think a vaux dealer would know exactly what to look for. I'm sure someone like Courtney or the VXRPC would be able to though.

Hi Ian
Thanks for the reply. What am I looking for if one is presently fitted?

the only way you'll know if a peformance box is currently fitted or whether its running a remap is to compare it against a standard v6 diesel.

performance box should be fairly easy to spot under the bonnet, but knowing whether one was ever fitted in the past is impossbile i think.

get yourself down to a rolling road where they'll tell you the output of the car.

The guys are correct, a remap is very difficult but not impossible spot.

A box, as long as it had the correct harness ie no cable chopping, is impossible to tell once removed.

Get another forum driver who owns a 150 CDTi to take it out for a spin. They will be able to tell you.

that'll be pretty pointless Dean as the guy owns a v6 diesel, not a 1.9 !!!
