What's the difference between the green box and all the other boxes. It's supposed to be the "economy box".Does it work as such? Does it have a different profile to achieve this?

Thought I might have got at least one reply to this...oh well. :(

Does anyone out there know?

i think you are right DD in that the green box is supposed to be the economy box - but i'm afraid i'm not clued up onto how or why its given this label.

Nope, it is exactly the same as the "Red" box with a different sticker ;) It is basically a marketing tool so i was told.

If it only guarantees better fuel consumption, then from an insurance point of view they are worth having. :)

the fact that they give you more power offsets any benefit of efficiency as you will be flooring it more often!

I sold my "Red" box after i thought i had been done for speeding a couple of weeks ago. It was a bit of a knee jerk reaction and i wish i had kept it. :( (I often do things like that and regret it afterwards.)
I decided that i was missing the power difference the box gives. Even in normal driving conditions the extra oomph is handy especially for overtaking etc.
I had a look around for a "cheap" replacement as i sold mine for 1/2 what i paid  and found THIS (http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Opel-Astra-Astra-GTC-1-3-1-7-1-9-CDTI-Chiptuning-Box_W0QQitemZ190038463423QQihZ009QQcategoryZ40186Q QssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem) Arrived from Germany within 3 days and what a difference it has made. It behaves more like the CR1 i originally had and feels soooo much better that the standard car. :D I've just got to learn to keep my size 12 off the loud pedal a bit :mod: :flail:

So for £65 inc P+P it's a bargain. I have no idea what the power output is but it feels bl00dy quick
