Day 2.3 - Friday the 13th

Just my luck what with the date being as above, I get a phone call from Don Paul saying the bonnet has some dents on it which are repairable but quite badly dented nonetheless. A phone call was placed to the Vx dealership where the bonnet came from and rather than the hassle of obtaining another one, which they said Vx would not do via courier because of the damage he offered a £30 refund towards the making good of it costs.. Ok I wasnt happy but wanted the bonnet ready so I gave Paul the go ahead to work his magic and fix it.. End of problem... So i thought.. Another phone call, more bad news.. they must have dropped the bonnet somehow quite badly as the end of the bonnet nearest the windscreen the 2 bits which meet the wing and windscreen were bent as well!! Well this is beyond repair and they would snap if you try to straighten them. So I've spoken to the Vx dealer and they are going to have it back and give me a full refund. Courier costs back to them I still need to talk to them about. Heres a few piccies of the bumper which is ready (but couldnt fit in the car as i was collecting the wings today) and the damaged bonnet. My local Vx dealer is ordering in a bonnet and I will be inspecting and collecting and transporting this one myself.

The new bonnet will be in Tuesday, so I'll be fitting it in primer black how it arrives and once the car is finished and legal to drive the whole car will be mopped in one hit.

Also picked the intercooler up today from my office but thats still wrapped, hopefully that should be ok. Not gonna do any work tomorrow as I'm doing some running around. But sunday hopefully I'll fit the aircon rad and intercooler thus saving all the panelwork for wednesday.

looks like a normal vx bonnet to me they all get sent that way .lol

about 40% of bonnets we deliver get returned for damage of some kind.

I don't know how any parts get through undamaged-bet it only had a bit of cardboard on it! Our company would have folded it up to get it through the letterbox!!
