    Default Handbrake seized with cold

    Any ideas how to get it free it's stuck on and it's -4.5 outside

    Think callipers are seized I've driven away but when I've stopped there's smoke and disks are red hot

    Don,

    It sounds like you have frozen water in the handbrake cables mate

    you will need to warm up the cables and possibly check /find where the leak is and replace the cable as necessary - otherwise its going to rust and then just stick on anyway

    Managed to get in working think it's what you said Dez drivers side was smoking bad and passenger was but not as bad 1st time it's happened so not sure what to do,seems to be one thing after another atm

    if you reach in under neath at the back where the cables attach to the brake system tap it up gently
    i had to do the wifes zafira last night

    a careful rock back wards always un sticks mine in freezing conditions, it's parked on the flat so I tend to NOT put it on,,if I remember,, which I haven't, so off to unstick mine.

    And never use the handbrake in these temp's except if you REALLY have to!!
    This advice is used here in Sweden...
