Would safeguard stop vectra c Sri from starting?

Can anyone please help?
I recently fitted a new starter motor on my vectra c Sri 1.9cdti. Since connecting the battery my car won't start and I've got 'safeguard on the dash readout. I've sat in the car while it's locked and the alarm does go off so it can't be the ultrasonics. Anyone got any ideas? Better still anyone got a tech 2 lives near county Durham? Cheers folks.

Did you connect the starter properly? Have you checked your fuses

Yes mate, starter was fitted correctly, but also in addition I forgot to mention that the boot won't open either

Did you disconnect the battery when you fitted the starter? It does sound like a fuse has blown or an earth problem.

Try posting a help request in your region and get the diagnostics done. I'm sure someone will help.

Checked connections for rear heated window as the heated windscreen don't work either. So it's a combination of the boot won't open, heated rear windscreen and turn signal lamp for left rear indicator. Any suggestions, getting desperate.. Cheers folks.
