    Default Smokey Diesel Z19DTH

    Hi All,

I've had this issue for about 8 months, it just scraped through the MOT.

I've looked at the injector flows and injectors 3 and 4 are flowing more than 1 and 2.

Do I need to replace these 2 injectors?

The issue is being a diesel, especially the z19 engine you won't get away by replacing just 2 injectors. Honestly i would send them to be rebuild but since the engine probably all they will is just replacing a few pieces and a good inner clean. Been there, done that. How much is your idle instant fuel consumption? On my old astra after i cleaned them it went from 0.7-0.8 to 0.3-0.4 on idle with a hot engine

I think it's between 0.2 to 0.3, but i have seem 0.8 and a smell of diesel, it went to 0.8 just as I got home Saturday after a 50 mile drive from my mums.

It doesn't do this often though.

If it goes up to 0.8 i would certainly send them to a refurbish especially since one of the injector crusher washer may be damaged since you smelled diesel and it wasn't from your exhaust. Don't forget to replace these 4 and the fuel filter
